Welcome to second grade!
My name is Kathleen Hezeltine and I am thrilled to be your child's second grade teacher. I consider it a great privilege to teach your child and am looking forward to all the year will bring.
Throughout the year you will find monthly updates on my home page.
*We will be studying family origins and traditions when we return from Thanksgiving holiday. Your children will be sharing their family quilt squares and we will make a "class quilt" with these squares. We will also be studying December holidays around the world. We will be creating gingerbread houses on Wednesday, December 14 as we study Christmas traditions in Germany. If anyone would like to help with this adventure, you are more than welcome! We will also be spending time practicing for and performing a wonderful Christmas program. The program will be on December 9 at 10:00 and 2:00.
We will have early release on December 16 after celebrating with a holiday party. All month we will be focusing on gifts we can give others that don't cost a thing!
Thank you for your ongoing support and particularly your consistency with reading at home and spelling homework. Your children greatly benefit from your support! Thanks for all you do and for allowing me the privilege of working with your children each day!
